Questions

Good questions we hear often

Something else on your mind? Email appointments@baylinetax.example or call us.

How much will my return cost?

Individual and family returns start at $150 for a federal and Maryland return. Small business and self-employed returns start at $400. We look at your documents first, then give you the full price before we start, so you can decide with no pressure.

Do I have to come to the office?

No. Many clients upload their documents through the secure link we email them and review their return with us by phone. You are always welcome to sit down with us in person if you prefer.

I got a letter from the IRS or from Maryland. What should I do?

Don't ignore it, and don't panic. Most letters ask for a missing form or a small correction. Bring the letter and your return for that year, and we will explain what it says and help you answer it before the deadline printed on it.

We are an independent office. We are not part of the IRS or the State of Maryland.

I haven't filed for a few years. Can you still help?

Yes. We help people catch up on past years every month. We start with the most recent year, work out what is owed or refunded, and file each year in order.

Can you help if our family is new to the United States?

Yes. We work with many families filing in the US for the first time. We explain which documents you need, what you may qualify for, and how it all works, in English, French or Spanish.
